Squid in Chilli Batter Recipe


Cook time is 20 minutes
Ingredients for the recipe
8 squid tubes
Juice of 1 lemon
Salt
200g white bread
3 dried chillies
1 tablespoon chilli flakes
2 egg whites
2 ½ quarts vegetable oil for deep fat frying
Procedure for the recipe
  • Wash the squid tubes and dry well. Cut the tubes into wide rings and season with lemon juice and salt.
  • Crumble up the white bread and mix with the finely chopped chillies and the chilli flakes.
  • Whisk the egg whites and dip the squid rings first in egg white, then dip the chilli batter. Do this two more times to ensure that the batter will turn out nice and crispy.
  • Deep fat fry the squid rings in the sizzling oil, divided into several rations, until they are crispy golden. Drain on kitchen paper. Serve as required.
